A MILDURA man who made national headlines last year after being identified as a suspect in three South Australian murder cases has ended up behind bars on a string of unrelated charges.
Steven Hainsworth will spend the next four months in jail after pleading guilty to seven charges, including recklessly causing injury, theft, intentionally damaging property and two counts of burglary, when he faced Mildura Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The 43-year-old said he was “drunk and stupid” when he twice broke into his neighbour’s house in October last year and made off with items including a TV, Richmond Football Club clothing and alcohol.
