EXTREME heat has forced officials of the Sunraysia Cricket Association (SCA) to cancel Saturday's round of matches, but clubs are divided on the ruling.

Under the current extreme heat policy, matches are called off if the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecast at 5.30am the day before the scheduled round exceeds 42C, which is the cut-off point for games to be abandoned.

The BOM predicted Saturday's temperature would reach 43C in its morning forecast before revising it to 42C in the afternoon.
