Murray algae watch

LOWER Murray Water (LMW) will continue to monitor Murray River quality daily following the discovery of fluctuating levels of blue-green algae in the river system this week.

Further testing yesterday showed a decrease in algal concentrations but rural  customers have been urged to top up water tanks should they be forced to isolate supply.

LMW communications and engagement manager Leesa Merrett yesterday said regular testing of water in recent days had shown fluctuating levels of blue-green algae from Lock 9 at Cullulleraine to Lock 11, Mildura Weir pool, through to Red Cliffs.
