A WENTWORTH Shire councillor has called for more transparency in the council’s tender process after it awarded a demolition job at the Wentworth Civic Centre to the Balranald Football Netball Club over a local small business.
Cr Peter Nunan said councillors weren’t given enough information when they endorsed the club’s quote of $10,000 to demolish the interior of the iconic site during a council briefing meeting last month.
Carpenters on Call, owned by Coomealla’s Dean Kitto-Trickey, was the only other party to submit a quote.
