BILL Slee comes across as a fairly quiet, unassuming sort of bloke.

The 64-year-old is mostly known locally in sporting circles as the captain of the Wentworth Golf Club – and he doesn’t mind it that way.
But 38 years ago on Tuesday this week, coincidentally as Australia and India clash in Test cricket for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Slee did something that would have most still talking about to this day – he knocked over Indian great Sunil Gavaskar for a second ball duck.
