A METAL sheet forced more than 9600 customers in western New South Wales to go without power yesterday as temperatures soared to 38.6C.
Customers in Wentworth, Dareton, Buronga, Gol Gol, Pooncarie and surrounds were affected by the outages.
Essential Energy southern acting regional manager Mathew Rogers said a sheet of metal coming into contact with powerlines in Victoria caused the Buronga and Dareton zone substations to cut supply at about 2.45pm yesterday.
