Victorian election 2018: Peter Crisp loss will be felt, Nationals leader says

THE Nationals party room has lost a strong advocate for Sunraysia and the Mallee with Peter Crisp’s ousting as Mildura MP, party leader Peter Walsh says.

Mr Walsh was in Mildura on Tuesday to help with scrutineering and offer moral support to Mr Crisp as preferences were distributed, which ultimately favoured independent Ali Cupper.

Mr Walsh on Wednesday highlighted Mr Crisp’s championing of the Murray Basin Rail Project, Mildura Riverfront, Robinvale school upgrades and lakes at Ouyen and Sea Lake as key achievements from his three terms in office.
