PREPARING the exhibition Wes Walters: the art of the pre-cursor was an emotional roller-coaster for Ren Walters.

The Melbourne-based resident has collaborated with Arts Mildura chair Domenico de Clario to bring his father’s work to life in two exhibitions held at the Museum of Innocence (MIM) and Mildura Arts Centre.

Born in Mildura in 1928, Wes Walters was an artist who practiced many disciplines. Throughout a long career he was at once a graphic designer, Archibald prize-winning portrait painter, sculptor, draughtsman, print-maker, abstract expressionist and landscapist.
