PROGRESS can be seen on the site of Aldi’s Mildura store, which is expected to be ready to open in the first half of next year.

Concrete walls have now been erected, with crews and equipment spotted hard at work on the $3.5 million development in recent weeks.

Located on the corner of Fifteenth Street and Deakin Avenue, previously the Big4 Mildura Crossroads Holiday Park, it will be the discount retailer’s first Sunraysia supermarket.

Plans submitted to Mildura Council included a liquor section and 130 carparks on site.

An Aldi spokeswoman last month confirmed works were on track for an opening date within the first six months of 2019.

There will be some minor road works required on Fifteenth Street during the construction phase.
