COUNTING to determine Mildura’s state MP for the next four years has entered a second week, with independent Ali Cupper still reluctant to declare victory and her Nationals opponent Peter Crisp yet to concede.
The Victorian Electoral Commission yesterday published updated vote counts that narrowed Ms Cupper’s lead from 303 votes to 240 after about 500 postal votes were added to the count.
Ms Cupper had 50.32 per cent of the two candidate-preferred vote, with a little more than 88 per cent of votes counted.
