NSW drink drivers to pay a heavier price

TOUGHER penalties for drink drivers have now taken effect in NSW.

Under the new laws, mid-range drink drivers will now spend at least three months disqualified and need to have an alcohol interlock installed in their vehicle for 12 months. 

Police will also have the power to take number plates or vehicles of repeat high-risk drink drivers on the spot.
