WENTWORTH Shire Council will consider joining a lobbying effort to address GP shortages and access to equitable health services in regional and rural NSW.
It’s recommended council support a request by Gwydir Shire Council to help collect signatures to its petition for better health policies and funding for equitable health services when it meets tomorrow night.
It followed a meeting of NSW councils in Albury last month, of which Wentworth Shire Council did not attend, to discuss concerns about attracting and retaining doctors in rural NSW.
