A FORMER Coalition voter who backed independent ­Suzanna Sheed in Shepparton is trying to capitalise on the shift away from major parties with his own election campaign this month.

Josh Hudson, an accountant from Tatura in the Goulburn ­Valley, argues the regions risk missing out on more funding during another four years of a Victorian Labor government.

Mr Hudson managed to ­secure the 500 members required to register his political party, Hudson for Northern Victoria, to be listed above the line on the Upper House ballot.
