THE funeral for Sunraysia football star Colin Sylvia will be held next Friday at the chapel of North West Funerals, Deakin Avenue, at 11am.
A private cremation will follow the service.
The 32-year-old former Merbein premiership player and AFL footballer died in a car crash at Irymple on Sunday afternoon.
This week, Mildura police Inspector Kevin Coughlan said Sylvia’s tragic death had significantly affected the Sunraysia community.
The announcement followed days of tributes.
Sylvia was described as a “great footballer” by Melbourne Football Club chief executive Gary Pert and a “very likable guy” by Geelong captain Joel Selwood.
He forged a 163-game AFL career with Melbourne and Fremantle, and was awarded
Demons life membership in 2015.
