Mildura MP Peter Crisp wants to see hard facts and evidence on service delivery by Mildura Base Hospital operator Ramsay Health before a decision is made on whether to return it to public administration.

DEBATE around the future of Mildura Base Hospital must involve more than ideology and a community survey, Member for Mildura Peter Crisp says.

The Victorian Government last week opened consultation on the hospital’s future through an online survey, which asks the public whether they want the hospital to be publicly managed.

However, consultation will not be finished before the election and so, either Labor will decide the hospital’s future next year or a new Coalition government will inherit the process, depending on the outcome of next month’s poll.
