THE Murray Darling Golf Association District Championships teed off at the Coomealla Golf Club on Saturday with a long list of chances in the men’s section.

Ashley Whitehouse and Mark Hann were the overnight leaders with opening rounds of one-over 73, just ahead of James Orpwood and Jacob Slimmon, who were both one shot back on 74.

Garth Doherty on 75, Steven Hopgood 76, Cameron Stewart 77, James Daly 77 and Justin McPhee 77 were all still a chance at the title but would need something special on Sunday to chase down the leaders.
