OUYEN farmers this week received more rain in two days than they did in the past two months – but it was a little late.

The bureau recorded 14.4mm on Monday and 13mm on Tuesday, in what was the first rain event exceeding 10mm since June.

Grain grower Scott Anderson, who farms south of Ouyen, yesterday said while it would help finish the late-sown crops, the 20mm rain would have been more beneficial earlier in the season.
