ROGER Mills, from Queensland (Sunraysia Daily, September 19) says Mildura Council’s refusal of three small solar farms in Merbein and Birdwoodton suggest it has a “last millennium” attitude to solar.
Perhaps Roger didn’t know that Mildura Council recently approved the Total Eren solar farm, Victoria’s largest, just north of Ouyen, with a massive one million panels producing 550mw, enough to power 72,000 homes.
Perhaps Roger didn’t know about the large “Canadian Solar” solar farm going up at Carwarp, or the other large solar farms Mildura Council has recently approved.
Perhaps Roger doesn’t know that these developments will make Mildura the solar capital of Victoria.
Perhaps Roger needs to differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate development, or perhaps they don’t have planning rules where Roger comes from.
Or perhaps Roger is just ill-informed.
Yep, that’d be my guess.
