A RAIL lobby group executive has slammed a transport strategy developed by a group of seven Central Murray councils for being too “Swan Hill-centric”.
The strategy, developed by and for Balranald, Buloke, Gannawarra, Mildura, Murray River, Swan Hill and Wentworth councils, aims to provide research to ensure a “fit-for-purpose” transport network in the region.
However, NorthWest Rail Alliance acting vice-president and Wentworth Shire councillor Jane MacAllister has described the 2018 Central Murray Regional Transport Strategy’s priorities as a “smack in the face”.
