WITH four wickets in hand, Merbein South looked to be cruising to their first win in 12 months against Nichols Point in the opening round of Sunraysia Cricket Association Division One competition on Saturday.

The Saints were well in control of the match with Shane Trinick and Daniel Chapman at the crease.

Needing fewer than 10 runs to win and with plenty of overs in hand there looked to be little standing in the way of Merbein South’s first points of the new season.
