IT might sound ludicrous, but Irymple captain Daniel Coghlan is almost underrated in a way.

The former Essendon VFL captain and two-time joint Holcroft Lawyers Footballer Of The Year is undoubtedly one of the best footballers in the SFNL – and perhaps country football – at the moment and has just come off leading his side to consecutive SFNL grand finals on the back of a starring role in the preliminary final.

His starring role in the clinches and his four telling goals in an 11-point win over Red Cliffs at the weekend were brilliant – but for his co-coach Todd George it was another day at the office.
