SHOPPERS in Langtree Mall and Mildura Central may have noticed an increased police presence as officers work with retailers to target shop thefts.

Mildura police Sergeant Jason Bruhn said Operation Light Finger aimed to decrease the number of theft-related offences at local stores.

“Our data shows 76 per cent of our offences occur between 9am and 5pm within the Mildura CBD,” Sgt Bruhn said.
