MILDURA Airport is confident Rex won’t follow the axing of its Sydney service with more cuts, despite the airline yesterday declaring it would “further review” Mildura-Adelaide flights.

Mildura Airport chairman Peter O’Donnell said he expected there were enough Adelaide and Melbourne-bound passengers from Broken Hill to sustain Mildura’s direct air links to those cities.

Rex on Wednesday announced its decision to axe the Mildura-Sydney service and redirect its aircraft and resources to operating an extra return service each weekday between Sydney and Griffith, in the NSW Riverina.
