VFF talk cuts to water charges, council rates for drought-affected farmers

THE Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) will call on the State Government to reduce drought-affected farmers’ water charges and council rates if dry conditions in parts of the state do not improve.

VFF representatives, including president David Jochinke, joined Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford in East Gippsland this week on visits to drought-affected parts of Victoria.

Mr Jochinke said the State Government had addressed some, but not all of the industry’s concerns with its $5 million drought package announced this week.
