A VICTORIAN government must “start the conversation” about how the Murray River should be managed in future to guarantee irrigation water supply to Sunraysia irrigators, Member for Mildura Peter Crisp says.
The Nationals on Wednesday announced they would develop a plan for water delivery during peak summer periods and put it to interstate water ministers, if elected in November.
Vast new plantings, mostly nut crops, have driven a horticulture boom in the Sunraysia area, particularly around Robinvale and Boundary Bend.
