Rex will end its Mildura-Sydney route in October.

MILDURA will no longer have a direct air link to Sydney after Rex yesterday axed the service and replaced it with extra flights between the harbour city and the NSW Riverina centre of Griffith.

The regional airline, which had already announced its intention to cut services in response to a Mildura Airport fee increase, yesterday revealed its new five-year partnership with Griffith City Council would come at Sunraysia’s expense.

Under the deal, Rex will increase the number of daily return services between Griffith and Sydney from five to six.
