Victorian state election: New campaign fights for more regional funding

A SECRET order of Sunraysia leaders, activists and business elites have launched a bold campaign to end what they claim is “regional funding discrimination” ahead of the November state election.

The group, whose members are initially choosing to remain anonymous to ensure it is more about the movement and not about personalities, has agitated an audacious fight for regional Victoria to receive a bigger slice of the state’s budget, government employment and politicians’ time.

Members of the new 25% Regional Victoria campaign have been working behind the scenes for months to form a movement of people who say they are “fed up begging for the crumbs” of Victorian Government resources.

“25 per cent of Victorian’s live in regional areas, so we figure we have the right to access 25 per cent of the money we all make,” one of the group’s key players told Sunraysia Daily.
