Grand final day at Lake Cullulleraine: Nangiloc win second consecutive Millewa Football League premiership

NANGILOC have done it again.

The Demons withstood a determined Werrimull side to win today's Millewa Football League grand final 11.6 (72) to 8.9 (57) at Lake Cullulleraine.

After getting out to a 14-point quarter time lead, Nangiloc led at both other changes but were never allowed to get too comfortable, the Magpies keeping it close all afternoon.

The game was very much still alive going into the final quarter, the Dees up by 15, but desperate defending meant only one goal was added to the scoreboard by each side.

The reigning premiers defended their title with a 15-point win.

In the Sunraysia Women's Football League, Werrimull made it three in a row after getting the better of a tense battle with Cardross, 5.3 (33) to 3.5 (23).

The A Grade netball crown also went to Werrimull, the Magpies bouncing back from last year's loss to defeat Gol Gol 48-33.

Gol Gol claimed the A Reserve premiership with a 38-26 win over Werrimull.

In B Grade, Gol Gol won a close battle with Meringur 25-22.

Bambill won the C Grade decider 35-26 against Nangiloc.

The juniors premiership went to Bambill in the closest game of the day, 41-40.
