OFFICIAL plans for the revamp of facilities at Merbein’s Kenny Park have been finalised with a contractor to be appointed to the project following the end of Mildura Council’s tender process in three weeks.
Designs include the addition of netball changerooms for the home and visiting side, which previously the grounds didn’t have and meant players had to arrive at games already in uniform.
Two dedicated umpires rooms will also be housed in the building, a change from the current setup where umpires from both sides use the nearby soccer clubrooms.
Trainers’ rooms will also be attached to each of the football-cricket changerooms, whereas previously home side Merbein had a dedicated room for a trainer and the visitors did not.
