THE Mildura Heat are one win away from making the Big V Basketball Division 2 Men’s grand final after a six-point win over Craigieburn on Saturday night at the Hothouse.
The 76-70 result was a huge boilover for the spirited Heat team against the minor premiers, who came in after a week’s rest and now means the Heat travel to Melbourne this weekend to potentially seal the best-of-three series on Saturday night – or Sunday if a third game is needed.
Heat star Calvin Henry scored 16 points in Saturday’s win, but had plenty of assistance with Dallas Brown also scoring 16, captain Dave Meyer adding 15 and Jay Madigan 12, with plenty of other contributors on defence and offense.
