THE NorthWest Rail Alliance has confirmed it will not confront former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett with protest action when he is in Mildura this weekend, but says it will protest in Mildura next month.
Mr Kennett will be in town as the patron of The Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph, having instigated the event in 1998.
His government axed the passenger train service in Sunraysia 25 years ago, and Mr Kennett told Saturday’s Sunraysia Daily he made the decision because The Vinelander train “wasn’t viable”.
