SUNRAYSIA teens with a disability are experiencing much poorer health and wellbeing, as well as a higher level of bullying compared to their peers without a disability.
A recent University of Melbourne study has found that almost 50 per cent of the poorer mental health of adolescents with a disability is due to bullying by peers.
Melbourne Disability Institute Academic Director Professor Anne Kavanagh said the results provided the strongest evidence internationally that adolescents with disability were significantly harmed by bullying.
