The Christie Centre’s love of music is well known around Sunraysia, with clients often performing around the region at various community events. Sunraysia Daily recently spent time with the Christie Centre’s band and choir to find out more about the songwriting process and how clients use music to express what’s most important to them.

A CLASH of drums and guitars rings out from the open roller door of “the retreat” at the back of the Christie Centre garden, with the resident band the CC Rangers in the middle of a jam session.

Music specialist Kathy Dubois is on guitar and is leading the group through a number that co-lead singer Rhyan Nicholson has written lyrics for.

It’s called Show No Fear, and it’s inspired by Rhyan’s love of V8 supercars and musically pays homage to his favourite bands Red Hot Chili Peppers and Flogging Molly.
