LETTER: Politicians should pay for drought crisis fund

Here’s a thought and something the politicians might consider to help the struggling farmers: how about you forgo your parliamentary entitlements until Christmas and pay your own travel, accommodation etc.

It’s not like you can’t afford it.

With the money we save from all federal and state politicians entitlements it can be put into a fund to help the farmers cause. We could call it the “snouts out of the trough” fund.

Come on, how about we promote this idea and find out how much compassion is among our so called illustrious Members of Parliament, I’ll bet not one puts their hand up!
