STUDENTS from two Sunraysia primary schools got a history lesson on Commedia dell’Arte this week.

The Make a Scene theatre arts education group presented workshops on the high-energy and stylised theatrical tradition before treating students to a performance of Pinocchio.

Languages teacher Mary-Anne Ghidinelli said the performance provided a rich theatrical experience and glimpse back in time to the 16th century Italy when the performing commedia traditions flourished.
