COMPETITORS are finalising preparations for next week’s Sunraysia Safari Rally, with entries up more than 50 per cent on last year’s inaugural event.

The defending champion in the Moto Division, Rod Faggotter, has been battling delays in arrival of parts for his all-new Yamaha, and a slow recovery from injuries sustained earlier in the year at the Condo 750.

Faggotter anticipated being ready just in time to defend his title in a quality field with both Honda and Husqvarna having sent factory supported teams keen to take the number one plate from the Queenslander.
