WENTWORTH Shire Council will call for pressure to be applied on the Federal Government to create a national water ombudsman and registry during next month’s 74th Murray Darling Association (MDA) National Conference in Leeton next month.
The MDA represents local government and communities at state and federal levels in the management of basin resources.
Next month’s conference will focus on the future of basin communities under this year’s theme of “trust, unity, equity and growth”.
