What is a My Health Record?

An online summary of a person’s key health information where they can safely store, access and share their important health information, which is kept together in one place and accessible anytime by patients and their doctors, hospital and other authorised healthcare providers, including in a medical emergency situation.

Who in Australia will have a My Health Record?

One in five Australians has a My Health Record and by the end of this year every individual with a Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs card will get a My Health Record unless they tell the government that they don’t want one.
