DESPITE living more than 10,000km away from his native country, Mildura’s Dominique Monchau celebrated the French soccer team’s victory as if he was in France.

Using his smartphone to live video his family, the soccer enthusiast was able to witness the frenetic atmosphere in his native Lens, a town in the Pas-de-Calais department in northern France.

And to add a French touch to this historic night, Mr Monchau treated himself with some traditional French produce – pâté en croûte, dried sausage, cheese and a white pudding with apple sauce.
