MILDURA’S rate of residents on long-term unemployment benefits is double the state average at 8 per cent, according to a master report commissioned by Mildura Council. 

Officially launched this week, the State of Mildura Rural City Report 2018 has painted a damning picture of residents’ workforce participation. 

The document was created to direct ­lobbying efforts for federal and state govern­ment funding and to be used by local organisations and service providers to address the region’s most pressing socioeconomic issues.
