MEDICAL staff at this year’s Hattah Desert Race were pleasantly surprised that although there was an increased number of entrants, patient numbers were down on 2017.
Victorian Medical Assistance Team leader Dr Travis Taggert led this year’s team of three doctors, nine nurses, two advanced responders and five support staff.
He said the VMAT saw 38 patients across the weekend from everything to minor hand and feet injuries all the way up to fractures.
