MILDURA Rural City Council will ramp up pressure on the State Government to make a cash commitment to the Mildura Future Ready Project (MFR), as the Federal Government pledges $10 million for the Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct (MSRSP).

Federal Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government Dr John McVeigh joined Member for Mallee Andrew Broad in Mildura yesterday to announce the grant, which was made available through round 2 of the Building Better Regions Fund.

Mayor Mark Eckel said the cash announcement was a major step forward for MFR and he praised Mr Broad for his assistance in securing the funding.
