WHAT first strikes observers about Pip Durban’s thoroughbred gelding Doubtless – also known as “Barney” – is his height and athletic build.

It’s because Barney was bred and trained for racing, before crossing paths with Ms Durban, who gave him the chance to shine off the race tracks.

“He started racing at about 2½ years as a flat racer,” Ms Durban, of Nichols Point, said.
