COOMEALLA-Mildura Triathlon Club vice-president Varley James will be part of history in September.

James will compete on the world stage at the Ironman 70.3 (half ironman) World Championships in South Africa’s Nelson Mandela Bay, the first ironman world championship event to be held in Africa.

A half ironman features a 2km swim, 90km bike ride and a 21km run, which would take an athlete of James’ level anywhere from 4-7 hours to compete.
