Trade booms as teams find camp

RED Cliffs has been a big winner of this year’s Hattah Desert Race with the town’s accommodation houses and eateries reaping the rewards.

From Thursday, riders and spectators began streaming into town in time for scrutineering at Quandong Park on Friday night and the start of junior racing on Saturday before the main event yesterday.

“This is the fullest we’ve ever been, we’re bursting at the seams … and they’re here for purely and simply for Hattah,” Red Cliffs Caravan Park owner Ian McGlashan said.
