SHIFTING the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) to Sunraysia remains a “very realistic” proposition, Member for Mallee Andrew Broad says.
Talk of decentralisation was revived last week when a Senate committee handed down its report from an inquiry into best practice approaches to regional development.
It was broadly encouraging of decentralisation and recommended all Commonwealth agencies have their suitability for relocation assessed, but also called for better connectivity and more investment in regional universities to accompany any push to spread the public service across the bush.
