FORMER NBL player and Mildura basketball icon “Jumping” Joe Hurst felt like he was back home on Wednesday when he returned to facilitate the NAIDOC Basketball Family Fun Day.
Hurst, who is now based in Bendigo, was joined by Heat women’s import Alexis Gassion at the event, which attracted 150 children.
“It brings all the community together and it’s a chance to have fun and celebrate the important culture in Australia,” Hurst said of the Family Fun Day, which has run annually for the past decade.
