LAST Wednesday night’s Swan Hill trots meeting only attracted 35 horses over six races. 

Then on Thursday night at Ballarat, one of Victoria’s premier clubs, the field sizes were also small with six races and only 45 starters. 

Some of these races only had five horses in the field and were still run despite Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) normally requiring six horses to let a race stack up.
