THE Federal Government has announced $3.025 million to expand the Sunraysia irrigation district to allow Lower Murray Water (LMW) to deliver up to 25,000 megalitres of extra water for agriculture each year.

The $6 million Sunraysia Modernisation Project will also see investment from private investors to complete the funding.

LMW board chair Cheryl Rix said the organisation has worked closely with the irrigation community over the past 15 months to get the project to this stage, and irrigators will see the benefits.
