REIGNING premiers Irymple can’t afford to drop either of their next two SFNL games if they are to remain in touch with the top four, Swallows captain Daniel Coghlan says.
The Swallows travel to City Oval on Saturday to face second side Imperials and then host third-placed Red Cliffs in round 10 – both opponents with just two losses between them for the season – needing to bank as many points as possible lest they fall behind the pack.
Irymple sit in fifth spot on 16 points, equal on points with fourth-placed Robinvale-Euston but behind on percentage, but the Eagles play two lower-ranked sides in Mildura (sixth) and Wentworth (ninth) in their next two games.
